Nice pics. We finally lost our last gravel road in our county about 10 years ago and I regret it. One cannot beat the ambiance of gravel when it comes to joy riding around.
Sherm Someone in our church, who works for the county, said that some places are taking out the pavement in roads and going back to gravel because its easier [and more economical] to maintain ......... that's different! I agree with you and the ambiance, there's also a rustic quality that reminds you of others things besides simply using roads to get from here to there faster.
Sage I think it's absolutely gorgeous; the only prettier place I've lived in was PA, near the Alleghany mountains. Plus++ we don't have the snow the UP has.
